Live.Create.Play.llc® is a guiding vision statement essentially on how we wanted to live our lives—to live, to create, and to play.
Our work lives at the intersection of identity, place, and participation.
At Live.Create.Play, we believe that environments shape how we feel, what we do, and how we connect with others. That the strongest communities are built when people can see themselves in the story. For more than 25 years, we’ve helped schools, nonprofits, museums, and mission-driven leaders transform their spaces into experiences that invite participation, strengthen belonging, and inspire action.
That philosophy began in our own backyard. What started as a family project to build a playhouse for our children became Little Main Street Playhouses®, an unexpected journey into the power of storytelling, imagination, and community. Creating frameworks for people to create, collaborate, and connect is simply what we do.
Today, that same belief guides every project we undertake. Whether we’re designing a donor recognition wall, a museum exhibit, a school environment, or a pop-up experience, our goal is the same: Helping people feel connected to something bigger than themselves.

Jennifer Byrne
Founder. Creator. Connector.
Jen is the visionary behind Live.Create.Play and the creative force who helps organizations uncover the stories that bring people together.
She believes every organization already has a compelling story. Her role is to help leaders discover it, clarify it, and make it visible through the spaces where their communities gather.
Through listening sessions, collaborative workshops, and strategic planning, Jen guides clients beyond aesthetics to uncover the values, aspirations, and shared purpose that make each organization unique. She sees every project as an opportunity to transform physical environments into experiences that strengthen culture, deepen belonging, and inspire participation.
For Jen, success isn’t only measured by the finished installation—it’s measured by the conversations it sparks, the pride it creates, and the people who begin to see themselves as an important part of the organization’s future.

Chris Byrne
Partner. Designer. Strategist.
Chris is the researcher, strategist, and creative problem-solver behind many of Live.Create.Play’s most engaging experiences. His role begins long before the design takes shape—digging into organizational history, uncovering authentic stories, verifying details, and ensuring the experience is grounded in truth.
He believes that the most memorable environments don’t just look beautiful—they earn people’s trust because they’re authentic. Whether researching archival materials, identifying compelling imagery, or uncovering the details that make a story come alive, Chris helps transform information into meaningful designs that people can connect with.
He also brings a practical perspective to every project keeping an eye on scope, timelines, and resources, Chris helps ensure ambitious ideas remain achievable and deliver lasting value for each client.
Together with Jen, he helps bridge inspiration and implementation—ensuring every Community Build Experience™ is as authentic as it is impactful.
“Live.Create.Play. is one of the most accommodating, problem solving, creative design firms that I’ve worked with.“
